Comments:    My wife Cynthia and I met in the fall of 1962 in the basement of the Student Union at UNL, the location of the Daily Nebraskan for whom I was selling ads, and the Cornhusker, the UNL yearbook where Cynthia was the editor.

Cynthia and I became engaged on New Years Eve of 1962 and married in the summer of 1963, I remember her father asking me how I was going to support his daughter and I told him that while in school, she was going to support me! I did drive a concrete truck during summers.

My undergraduate degree in Business Administration was completed in 1963 and the law degree in 1966, both from UNL

Our daughter Jennifer was born in 1966 and son Jeff in 1969. We have no grandchildren.

I joined the law firm of Pierson & Pierson in Lincoln in the summer of 1966 with Dave Pierson and his father Barney. During the following years both Barney and Dave died and by the time I retired in December, 2007, there were 10 lawyers in the firm. The law practice was something I really enjoyed, spending most of my time in the real estate, estate planning and estate administration areas. I have retained my license to practice law so I can still do a few law matters from time to time on a very selective basis.

Some folks thought I would have a tough time adjusting to retirement - I worked long hours and weekends - but it turns out it was not a problem at all - sleeping in is great ! I am now doing some of my own stock trades and some are done by an old friend on the east coast. Cynthia and I play golf, at least when the snow melts here in Lincoln and I enjoy photography as a hobby.

We have enjoyed vacations in Colorado over the years but now that our daughter who lived on the outskirts of Denver is back in Lincoln, Arizona may hold a stronger appeal - it still gets cold here in Lincoln.

It seem impossible that 50 years have passed since were seniors at NE. I treasure the memories of that very happy time. The relationships that were nurtured from Bethany Grade School followed by NE have endured over the years and have created some very strong bonds.
